I was spending some time trying to find the message boards for Parenting
magazine regarding the BF Police article. I didn't find it, but I did
register for their message boards. While reading some recent posts on their
Breastfeeding in Public board, I came across a URL for breastfeeding.com
which announces "A landmark agreement between Healtheon/WebMD and Mead
Johnson Nutritionals, maker of Enfamil formula, will result in Enfamil
sponsoring the pregnancy and new parent information on the largest Web site
for general health information."

I thought I remembered reading something a few months ago about a WebMD
article Article aimed at educating physicians on infant feeding which was
not breastfeeding-friendly. A search of the archives turned up some posts
about this in Dec, 1999 and an excellent response to WebMD from Laurie
Wheeler which she posted on Jan 26, 2000. I am not sure when this
"agreement" became effective, but it may explain the tone of the infant
feeding article.
