Have a patient (nursing a 4 mo old) today with an herpetic infection on
the eyelid. Seen by local eye doc and started on Viroptic
(triflouricine) Eye drops and told to stop nursing because they did not
know if it is safe. Apparently this is an antiviral contraindicated in
pregnancy. Could not find it in archives or in Hale. Any info our there
on this.

Thanks, David Abdun-Nur MD (family practice in Grants Pass, Oregon)
