I recall having that same discussion at work almost 2 years ago when I
started here. There is a website for the CDC that explains that "human
milk is not considered to be in the same category as bodily fluids."

Back in June 1998 Jeanne Mitchell from TX sent me some info that she
asked me to post to lactnet so do an archive search on breastmilk reply
and you might find it. The down side to this is that each hospital may
have their own infection control policy based on the "scaredy cats" who
run the dept that supports these fallacies. Please check also with LLLI
Center for Breastfeeding Information as they have a policy statement on
this issue and all LLL policy statements are approved by the Health
Advisory Counsel (Board?).
