A word of caution. The article describes this as a MEDICAL procedure, and
some in-depth knowledge of the micro-anatomy of the nipple-areolar
complex is implied. The barbell does not go into or through the nipple,
but the nipple is first "brought out under local anesthesia", and then
pierced through its base.

Since we are only 75 miles from each other, I would be interested in
proposing other alternatives and possible personal follow-up.  This is my
area of special interest and a fair amount of experience and expertise
with methods beyond the niplette. (4 unpublished case studies). E-mail me
privately if you think the mom would at least like to discuss it with me.
