I have a question about the nipple piercing idea. Would the barbells (is
that the type of jewelry that would be used) remain in place when the baby
is nursing or would they be removed prior to the actual breastfeeding. As
a mother of a young women with many piercings (not her nipples, she knew
better than that!!) I have seen that these rings and barbells can come
loose and I would suppose possibly be sucked in by the baby.
For the question about asthma. There is a very good aritcle by Saarinen.
"Breastfeeding as prophylaxis against atopic desease: prospective
follow-up study until 17 years old."
by U. M. Saarinen and M. Kajosaari Lancet 1995; 346; 1065-69
This should be helpful. I have this from many of the aritcles that my
other daughter is collecting for her essay. Thanks again to everyone for
the help you gave her!!
