Dear Ones,

A situation has arisen that needs your help.  There is an on-line Christian
bookstore that used to carry Babywise, but withdrew it on November 17 because
the owner had received information about the potential dangers of the
program.  However, he is since reconsidering his decision and may offer it
for sale once again as he is being pressured by Multnomah (the publisher of
Babywise) and Gary Ezzo.  Ezzo (and Multnomah) insist that the only cases of
failure to thrive using the program are a result of parents misinterpreting
the tenents of the program and "not using common sense."  Dr. Aney has sent
him the packet of information, and I am using this opportunity to ask those
of you that have seen problems of slow weight gain or failure to thrive r/t
to this program to e-mail or call the owner, and tell him what you have seen,
from a *professional* perspective.  He wants information and facts about
situations that have arisen, not just an emotional response.

For the Babywise/Prep supporters who are on this list -- Gary Ezzo has had
his opportunity to defend his program.  He defends it by saying there is
nothing wrong with the program, but with the parents.
