Further to my previous email, here is a comment from:
HIV and INFANT FEEDING
A REVIEW OF HIV TRANSMISSION THROUGH BREASTFEEDING
Reprinted with revisions, December 1998
World Health Organization 1998
There is very little information on the safety and feasibility of infant-feeding
alternatives for seropositive mothers and these aspects need to be studied
(including commercial infant formula, home-made infant formula, heat-treated
expressed breast milk, and wet-nursing). It is also important to identify
approaches to treating expressed breast milk to eliminate the risk of
transmission while preserving the milk's nutritional content.
