I remember those things too as well as the smells, sights, sounds,
emotions. I think however that when I remember these things I don't
actually *feel* the pain of the transition and baby descending the birth
canal. I do re-smell the smells, see the sight and hear the sounds in
my mind, and I feel the emotions all over again. I don't actually
re-live and re-feel the same intense pains. I know I had them but my
body doesn't recreate them the same.
