I had a client who presented similarly. She was very worried about being
able to tolerate the baby at the breast. She had some initial soreness,
but not unbearable; then, by 2 weeks, she was fine. She is still
breastfeeding at 1 year. It will be interesting to see if she returns to
her hyper-sensitivity after weaning.
I think that acupuncture would be a very good treatment for this condition.
And its desensitizing would assure the mother ahead of time.
