I received a nice response to my first letter, read Ben & Jerry's press
release, and responded to them with this:

Sharon, thank you for the response.

The pertinent part of your press release is "commitment to the community."
Ben & Jerry's is just about the most ethical company I've ever had the
pleasure of observing and supporting with my dollars. It's one major reason
why I buy your products.

Please let me remind the company's Board of Directors that Nestle has been
the subject of two International boycotts, one of which is still ongoing,
and two decades of opposition from the World Health Organization and UNICEF.
No large company has EVER been so community-UNfriendly, targeting their
unethical marketing efforts toward the world's most vulnerable populations:
the world's babies.

The USA has recently endorsed the World Health Organization's International
Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes and relevant resolutions of the
World Health Assembly. The Code calls for governments to establish marketing
policies for products that compete with breastfeeding.

As your Board contemplates this "indications of interest," please keep the
vulnerable babies of the United States in the forefront of your collective
minds, and DON'T sell out to Nestlé's lure of money in exchange for your
good reputation and community commitment.
