Age should not be what the decision to do a frenotomy is done by!  It should
be based on short and restrictive frenulum.  If it's so short that baby can't
get it over the gum line then it's going to be a problem for breastfeeding,
possibly for eating solids later, more possibly for speech, and absolutely
for sticking out the tongue, licking an ice cream cone, and even limiting
future kissing abilities. AGRAAAAA

The peds I work with clip the baby boys with short and tight frenulum at the
time of circumcisions on day 2-5 or whenever it is brought to their
attention.  The oldest that was done in our office was 4 years old.  I don't
understand why some physicians are so resistant to doing a simple procedure
that can only enhance the use of an important organ like the tongue.
