I've only seen one episode of Dr. Quinn and it was the episode in question.
As I recall, at first, the Native American herbal remedy Dr. Quinn
administered to the baby was to blame for the baby's death.
Dr. Quinn, having successfully used these herbs many times before, did not
believe this and began to investigate further.
She tested the milk from the cow (which she thought might be tainted.)
Then, I don't remember why, she tested the milk reaming in the tubing of the
bottle, which was quite extensive.
