England is issuing new guidelines for the prevention of SIDS:
> Parents will be advised not to fall asleep with their baby on a sofa, which increases the risk of sudden infant death almost
> 50-fold. They should not sleep with the baby in their bed if they smoke, have recently drunk alcohol, are excessively tired, or
> have taken sedatives.
>
> The baby's cot should be kept in the parents' bedroom for the first six months, and the use of pillows, duvets, or loose bedding
> is discouraged, particularly if there is a risk of the head being inadvertently covered
