I don't think I'm the one who needs a friendly reprimand here.
Frankly, I think the Lactnet Admin had a responsibility to give a
friendly reminder to the list when the articles were copied in the
first place. You're saying that it's not okay to forward someone's
post, but you were silent on the misuse of copyrighted material when
it occurred.

I wasn't threatening to forward the post without permission of the
author, but I was saying that posters who disagreed should be willing
to let the copyright holder decide whether or not such copying is
permissible. A recent post suggests that it's okay to violate the law
as long as you don't get caught, and I find that offensive.

Most people here at Lactnet mean no harm, but they do need to be
informed. Anyone who snorts may go to
http://washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/interact/longterm/talk/copy.htm to
find the Washington Post's restrictions on copying their web site
material.

I did get a chuckle out of Kathy Dettwyler's implication that I would
have been more effective if I had just listed the url for the
copyright notice. No sarcasm there; I really did get a chuckle out of
that!
