I was NCAST certified in 1995, and found it an incredible asset to my
practice. Learning about infant states, cueing and feeding information is
valuable, and really changed my practice. I try to teach parents the cues
that infants are telling them; so many parents don't realize their baby is
born with a whole set of responses to communicate. Makes me feel sad for my
babies born in 1980 and 1983, it would have changed the way I handled them.
And I thought I was an educated health care provider!!!
