So the more I think the more questions I come up with...

4  If unrelieved engorgement in the non breastfeeding mom causes milk
involution, does that mean this mom is actually trying to re-induce
lactation?  So she may not have had a great chance for a full supply
after delivery??

Our department has been brainstorming like mad.  I think if this mom
could get herself into a better state of mental function, something like
the sns might really help.  She is just so fragile I hesitate to make the
situation too complex for her.
