A friend of mine who recently had a baby reported that her baby's broken
clavicle was not "caught" until the two week check up.  Another friend's baby
was diagnosed with a cleft of the soft palate at two weeks old (which
explained why he nursed around the clock and didn't gain much/any weight).
So these things do seem to be missed in the hospital setting...
