My first child was offered a pacifier and got "addicted" for many
months. My second never had one (my over-reaction?) and the 3rd & 4th
only briefly for reasons (carpool times). I've often thought that might
be a piece of why I only had lactation amenorrhea for 11 months with the
first and about 2 years with the others, although all 4 loved nursing
and did so for several years.
