I am working on becoming a LLL leader, I am currently working at a free
standing CNM run birth center as a CBE and birth assistant.
We have an almost 100% breastfeeding rate upon discharge.  Unfortunately
the CNM doesn't believe giving bottles in the early days causes problems
and also believes that colostrum usually is not enough for the baby..
(lots of problems for me to help with :o(         I try to follow all of
our PP moms, support them, and try to catch problems as they develop.
The 6 week PP breastfeeding rate is going up at the center and that is
enough for me to keep putting in all of those hours supporting the moms.
I hope to one day become a lactation consultant :o)  I am also very
happily nursing my 10 month old daughter!!  Again I love this list and
have already learned a great deal from all of you...  Warmly Karen
