I searched the archives and found one reference to blood donation while
breastfeeding. I had an interesting conversation with a mom last night.
She called to say she has been pumping for about a month at work and was
getting 6-8 oz of milk at a pumping session for her 4 mo old. yesterday
could only get 3 oz. After asking if she had done anything different, she
said no but finally said she had a headache from donating blood the day
before. I believe that caused a decrease in her supply the next day 7
suggested extra fluids & nursing & pumping the next few days. She said the
baby was also acting hungry that night & she suppplemented with some pumped
milk and that abm stuff, which wasn't usual. Will be interested in
following her the next few days.
