I haven't heard of this, and I have done a UK news search to the end of
August and nothing has come up, Jennie.  That doesn't mean it didn't
happen...but my ears are tuned into stories like this and I do tend to hear
them.

I do know that we have had discussions here on the list about why a sofa is
not a safe sleeping place for a newborn.

Perhaps someone else in the UK can come up with more details.
