Dear Friends:
This is in response to Pat's query about cranio-sacral therapy for an
infant with a misshapen head and sucking problems. CST would certainly be
indicated here. So would a good chiropractor.
There are little holes (foramina) in the headbones, through which go some
cranial nerves. With some births, the headbones are deformed, which scrunches
the little holes, and squishes the cranial nerves. So the baby has problems
with sensory and motor components of several cranial nerves. This can lead to
GI problems and a lousy suck, to name only two possibilities.
Warmly, Nikki Lee
