In a message dated 99-09-09 22:53:45 EDT, you write:

<< I am far more critical and judgmental in these classes than I could be
as an official LLLL. I realize that as long as I was clear about my role
in the class as being IBCLC and not LLL, I could proceed, but I am sure
that at some point, LLL would get flak for my views and outspokenness. >>

Denny, I give. Why would you have to present yourself and act as an
"official" LLLL when teaching these classes? Like many, I've overlapped roles
as a RN, IBCLC and LLLL for years with no trouble. When there is a question
of which role or hat I'm wearing, I just state such very specifically. "I
am/am not wearing this hat now." If I must switch hats, I state this
immediately too, e.g."I'm no longer comfortable (or am limited) with this
hat, so I want you to know I'm now taking that hat off and putting on (blank)
one."

BTW, I have a "business" phone by my desk and when a call comes on it, it is
an LC call. My home phone number is listed on the LLL line, so I can easily
tell the difference.

Cindy, re: << I am looking for some evidence for or against nursing during
pregnancy if mom has a history of miscarriage. >>

What is the etiology of the miscarriage history? If blighted ovums
responsible, the answer may be different than if related to incompetent (ugh)
cervix.
