Opening disclaimer: I have an OK from Kathleen Bruce, Lactnet co-mother, to
share this with all of you.

The Oxford English Dictionary (affectionately referred to as the OED by those
of us who peruse its pages from time to time...) is planning a new edition,
sometime early in the coming 21st century. About 2010, I believe.

The authors are asking, world-wide, for people to submit NEW words that have
come into usage; this includes technical words (as well as slang and other
interesting areas).
This got me to thinking about some of OUR new terms--ABM, milk ejection
relfex and so forth.

If you are interested in submitting new words (you must submit with proof
that the new word has been used in print and is accepted) or in more
information about this truly unique opportunity, visit the OED website:
www.oed.com

Let other Lactnetters know if you do decide to make any submissions.

Thanks,
Jeanne Brotherton
OED afficionado and LC
