Elisheva,
It occurs to me that despite excellent personal and sexual hygiene, the
"geography" of the perineal area is the usual route of spread of candida
from the digestive tract to the vaginal area when tissues are more
susceptible (pregnancy, diabetes etc.)
So, I reason that it's not the lactobacilli traveling, but the
lactobacilli keeping the candida in the gut under better control, so that
there is less of a "culture" to bud and spread along the warm, moist
route.
I don't see that this would then have anything to do with the original
question, other than improvement of the flora and fauna of the mother's
gut.
Of course, it has been popular in some circles, especially before
Monistat became available without Rx, to instill lactobacilli through
active culture yogurt directly into the vagina, with a turkey baster, I
suppose!
But I don't think injecting the breast milk of someone who had consumed
the acidophilus would do the trick!
