Re Pat's case of sore nipples. Why not try Jack Newman MD's four part nipple
ointment, which usually helps the problem whatever it is. The shield use
can make sore nipples worse, and is probably not helping any,...
The ointment is:
mupirocin 2% ointment (5 grams)
nystatin 100,000 units/ml ointment (5 grams)
clotrimazole 10% (this is the vaginal cream) (5 grams)
betamethasone 0.1% ointment (5 grams)
The last ingredient is questionable in strength...Jack, isn't it supposed to
be 1% Betamethasone, but this is unavailable in the US?
This ointment has helped many mothers that I have worked with and hasn't
produced any negative side effects to my knowledge.
The doctors who intimated that the mother is a wimp should have similar
sensations on their sensitive erectile tissue. That would probably increase
their knowledge base about what the mother's experience is, and might help
them have a bit more empathy. Any health care professional who dismisses
the pain of another human needs further sensitivity training.
