Having difficulty in changing our hosp, policies in regard to allowing
newborns to bond with their mothers approx. 1 hr. after birth in L&D for
healthy infants and mothers.
According to AAP bf will help in the % of low blood sugars. We are having a
problem with low blood sugars on some of our newborns.
QUESTIONS;
Accuracy of early ultrasound to determine gest. age ?
Accuracy of dubowitz assessment within 1 to 2 hr. of age?
Which of these is most accurate?
At what blood sugar level do you treat, how, and how soon after delivery
should treatment start for:
LGA
SGA
IDM
Would the treatment differ between symptomatic and asymptomatic?
At what blood sugar value should treatment be given?
I need your help with current references if poss. We will be presenting
these facts at our OB-GYN, PEDI
meetings. One of our meetings will be this evening, please send me this
info asap.
