I'm one of those women. Though the feeling might be described as "sluggish",
I'm not sure that it was exhaustion or just that I reacted so nicely to the
prolactin to the point of becoming a vegetable ;o) I suggest that because
when I started giving my toddler solid snacks instead of nursing when he
woke several times a night, I found that I suddenly had lots of energy...but
only at night (which before Nate was pretty normal for this night owl)!!!
However, during and after daytime nursings those waves of sheer exhaustion
were overwhelming at times and I could barely rise from the chair or bed
afterward.

Dear Friends,
I am curious to know if any of you come across this complaint and how you
deal with it. I very often hear from clients that they just had to wean
because the entire time they nursed they were totally exhausted and unable
to function, and of course this cleared up "the day" they stopped nursing.
On a less extreme level, what about the mothers that say "it takes to much
out of them"... etc. What are you advising these mothers?
Jessica Billowitz
who is finding it hard to relate to these comments- personally I find
parenting in general exhausting, but I'm not throwing my kids away....
