<< As for PPD and breastfeeding, there was a mention in one of those books I
posted about earlier this week that women who have ppd may have had a higher
rate of depression before or during pregnancy. >>
Won't swear to this and don't have time to check my file, but I think this
was a finding published in Image (scholarly nurse journal) and Susan Gennaro
was the primary researcher. History of depression or disthymia are linked
with PPD as is PPD with a previous baby. Do a search and get Cheryl T. Beck's
research reports on PPD.
Karen KG ( who is going nomail for a few weeks due to travel to present
sessions about what else--breastfeeding and parenting multiples for AWHONN
next week in Dallas and LLLI with Kathy Dettwyler in Atlanta, Baltimore,
Boston & Chicago the week after. Would love to see anyone from those
areas--will be signing Mothering Multiples [but no pressure re: the book--am
happy just to see anyone!] at various bookstores along the way. Specific
bookstores are listed at LLLI's web site--"what's new--Mothering Multiples or
email me by Sunday for site. I don't think this is a commercial message--just
a plea to come talk so I don't feel like an idiot sitting in some bookstore
for an hour or two if no one shows! If it does fit "commercial," I truly
apologize!)
