Dear Folks:
Just a reminder on this thread about the research showing that epidurals
didn't have a negative impact on breastfeeding initiation or duration if
there was strong breastfeeding support in the hospital. The researchers did
not examine breastfeeding problems in that population, however 92% of women
will still breastfeeding at 6 weeks postpartum when there was a consistent
and extensive network of hospital breastfeeding support. This study was in
Birth, either Summer or Fall 1999; check the archives.
