Liz, what an interesting situation, socially as well as everything else -
the above quote I have snipped is enough to explain to me what has gone
wrong in this scenario. With your support and information, this mother was
doing well, her baby was doing well...yet she started doing this unhelpful
thing of taking the baby off and swapping sides, which we know will lead
to ineffective feeding, fussy baby, dwindling milk supply and lack of
confidence in the mother.

This is not the forum to discuss other organisation's support, but I am
very surrpised that a member of the well-respected lay organisation this
client's sister belonged to would pass on such odd advice....this is very
outdated. Is anyone else as surprised as me?

The clock has no business intruding in a scenario which looked as if it was
well on the way to being successful (given the continued support and
contact you were offering).

Going back to basics - feeding effectively, letting the baby set the
pace, and giving lots of skin to skin contact, will be just as important
in this situation as herbs, pumping etc , IMHO.
