Absolutely.

So is it not absolutely *disgraceful* (can't think of a better word) that
mothers are *still*  being told at every level of 'expertise' to limit the
time at the breast to prevent soreness?

I mean, I get mothers calling who are apologetic, because they've been told
their sore nipples are their fault, because they have 'allowed' the baby to
suck 'too long'......

It used to be that mothers were given 'permission' to feed for 1 min per
side on the first day, 2 mins on the second day (or some such arbitrary
limit) and thank goodness I haven't heard that for at least 15 years....but
they are still warned not to keep their babies on 'for too long', whatever
that means....
