Okay I admit it, the only part of the news paper I read is the comics
(unless some particular headline catches my eye). well over the last few
months one of the characters became pregnant. Being a natural birth advocate
I read with trepidation just what kind of message will sent out to the
general public. well surprise suprise!!! They made the birth a very
wonderful moment and I was so happy!!!!

Next on my list of OH NOW WHAT WILL THEY DO?????? How will they protrait the
infant feeding? Well in the next couple of days the hubby was sent out to
the store to by nursing bras!!!! Coming home with a dozen boxes because of
the ever changing size of her breasts. I laughed and laughed with joy. The
next day the hubby asks how things are going and the mom says "I'm sure glad
I stuck with this". More smiles!!!

Now I know this is only a comic, but the impact it will have will be great.
I mean really children read comics.
Now I look forward to the rest of the story, wondering what other messages
will be produced. (BTW the next comic in the series is Hi and Lois with
their baby that has been bottle feed for the last 20 or more years!!)

anyways, I may not be up to par with the major research, but I'm still here
in the trenches observing what is being dished out to the general public.

(p.s. one of the poems that was circlulated was by someone I knew and talked
with here in Calgary, imagine my surprise to see that!)
