One of the most fun things I ever did in my years at WIC was collect
pictures of WIC moms nsg their babies and make a display of them in the
clinic! I started with my peer counselors and staff, asking them to bring in
pictures of themselves nsg their babies. (And I contributed some of my own,
of course!) Then I progressed to taking on-the-spot pics of clients nsg
their babies in clinic (with signed consent, of course).

People loved it! What I most liked about it was just the variety of women &
their families it showed - from very conservative-type women to the "crunchy
granolas" (as we call the hippies & earth-mother types around here), all
colors & races & ages, some with disabilities or impairments. Clients in the
waiting area really liked seeing the WIC staff back in their "young mother"
days, in PJs & messy hair and real-life household scenes, with their own
kids - and the one of me leaving the hospital, looking absolutely
*terrified* with my bawling twins in my arms and my dear little 4-yr. old
beside me, always caught their eye! And they could find friends & neighbours
& other people they'd seen at WIC.

It was just such a *zesty* slice of life!
