I would really like your input (through private e-mail)regarding the
following:
What would YOU say to or do in this particular case :

A one-year-old baby who still is completely breastfed (And her mom didn't
want to wean  her before which is very exceptional in our country)  refuses
bottles,doesn't like follow-up stuff, but does drink from a cup, has to be
weaned within the next 3 months.

This child had a dislocation of the hip (discovered at 6 months of age!),
wore a brace for the next 4 months (day and night) and then nights only for
two months more. Baby just 'got rid' of the brace. Because of the brace,
this child has always slept with mother and nursed until asleep (always
nursed lying down).
(Again, this is not common, here). Baby nurses with mom in the morning, at
lunchtime, in the evening and sometimes at night (for comfort, according to
mom).

Mom is pregnant again (half way)and wants to wean slowly (within the next 3
months) now because they are moving within this pregnancy, and they want to
prevent that the baby will feel rejected because of this and the upcoming
baby.

Mom said :'Breastfeeding meant much more for this child than only milk as
you can probably see, and I want your advice'.

And that's exactly the same as I'd like from 1500 of my colleagues all over
the world before getting back to this mom.
