< That isnt a good way to phrase it. How about not
adequately emptying mom?

Rob

I too am trying to retrain myself to choose a simple phrase that does
not include anything using the word "emptying". I am actively trying to
substitute something along the lines of "more thorough milk removal".

I recently re-read the 2 JHL Daly and Hartmann articles on milk
synthesis. After reading their explanation, I keep trying to remember to
phrase things to project the concept of "degree of milk removal in
relation to mother's storage capacity."

Trying to put it simply, so far, I have ended up saying "Sometimes, only
about half the stored milk has been removed. It often helps if baby (or
compression and pump etc, whatever is appropriate in her situation) would
remove 75% or more."

If she talks in "ounces obtained from one breast", maybe "try to remove
another half again as much"?

I am open to suggestions of yet simpler ways to phrase it. (Watch Our
Language, eh Diane?)
