Being able to pay for the exam....
Someone commented on how much money it would cost to sit for the IBCLC exam.
I spent almost a year studying many, many nights at home, at my husband's
office (night), and at the library. I DID NOT have the funds to take an
expensive course.
Many people said I would not pass if I did not take these courses.
I am a LLLL which did give me a huge background of knowledge that I am VERY
grateful for. I borrowed and bought a few books to study. I made a huge
amount of flash cards (read it, write it, know it theory). I have also
attended many conferences. At every conference I have volunteered to do
something to get my fee reduced.
There are ways to achieve your goals if you really think about it.
Take care,
Annette Leibovitz, IBCLC
