I have found this debate very interesting and thought-provoking.

I do wonder if we really would see babies die if formula was not provided. I
don't know how it works in the U.S., but a mother who was giving her baby
Kool-Aid and root beer here in Canada would have the Children's Aid Society
around pretty quickly. In my community, we have a pretty intensive program
for the high-risk mothers where a nurse visits daily to make sure the baby
is being properly cared for. (We don't have a WIC program, though.) Surely
there must be something similar in the U.S.
