Sad to say that I do not hold out alot of hope for increasing the milk
supply of your client. I hope I don't sound too judgemental, but.....the
quick fix pill probably won't cut it. This mom sounds like she wants it to
work, but the most effective interventions (expressing very frequently,
around the clock, baby on breast w/ supplementer, lots of kangarooing - do
they cosleep?) are the ones she declines. Now I realize that she may not get
any more milk even w/ these interventions but this would be where I would
steer her. Also I do not know her home situation r/t other children etc.
However, I would reiterate the optimal interventions and then support her in
her decision and affirm any amt of bf and breastmilk she can give.
