I really want to find a link between 'the historic protection' of bf and
prevention of breast cancer - the way being breastfed and breastfeeding may
or may not affect cancer - but as Valetrie says, the Florida stats are
not enough - and I hope others will contribute. The high oestrogen pills
could be a factor, but we'd need lots more info.
You also need to know the size of the cohort, and whether more (or fewer)
women died simply because the whole cohort was larger (or smaller).
You also need to know the morbidity rate - how many women are diagnosed
with breast cancer, and in which age group.
I will try and get some UK stats this week if I have time to hunt. I know
they will be on the web somewhere.
