Just thought I add a little humor to everyone's day. I have been called
alot of things but last week I couldn't help smiling(and laughing on the
inside)at a home visit. It was a late home visit and I had had a long
day(so I was tired and sometimes when I am tired I find everything
funny--those are the good tired days). The mother and baby were a joy
to work with--the mother so very motivated. The father was very proud
of his new son who was born on his birthday. The phone rang during my
visit and the father who was right next to me, answered his cordless
phone. He told the caller that he couldn't talk right now because the
"lactose" specialist was here. The way he prounouced lactose sounded
like lac toad. He then had to say it again because the caller didn't
understand. Again, he said, "the lac toad specialist" and again the
caller must have said,"What?" He finally said, you know, the person who
helps people breastfeed. Yeah...the lac toad. Valerie W. McClain,
IBCLC
