I agree with Nikki's discussion of how she presents BF issues in childbirth
classes. I often frame these issues as "stacking the deck" in favor of good
outcomes.
I think the elephant in the middle of the room is the revelation that
"children are not convenient." DUH. We generally don't set out thinking
that having children will make our lives LESS complicated!
The seductive promise of infant formula, Ezzo, cribs, pacifiers, spankings,
etc (ad nauseum) is that their particular brand of snake oil will make our
children more perfect, more convenient, less trouble.
IMHO, children have lots of positive "features," but "convenience" is rarely
on the list.
Sheesh.
