I haven't had the opportunity to read the actual study on HIV transmission
and breastfeeding by Miotti, but, according to the numbers in the abstract
at JAMA's website, there is a 7% transmission risk. 47/672 infants
contracted HIV during 2 yrs. of breastfeeding=6.99%.

Am I missing something? Why does the abstract, and all of the press, state
a 10% risk?

Sincerely,

Stephanie Russell, MPH, RD
