Yes, Susan! I would say that was very likely.

I also think this line of thinking has great merit. I would also like
to add to it. I'm hypothesising here: Suppose the chemicals in our
food, and that get into breastmilk, cause reactions in the babies
(which we know can happen when people directly eat the foods
containing the chemicals) and therefore make irritable babies. What
do irritable babies do? They seek comfort in the breast and ask to
feed frequently, which we know may cause overstimulation in mum's
milk supply, too much milk too fast going through baby, lactose
overload, colic symptoms, more irritability from wind in the bowel,
etc. Viola! The vicious cycle of classic oversupply colic! I don't
know about other places in the world, but oversupply colic is quite
common here in Australia.
