NEW YORK (Reuters Health) — Breastfeeding for the first six months after
delivery may be an effective form of birth control, according to a study
of
new mothers in seven countries.
The results support previous findings that suggested breastfeeding
offers 98%
protection against pregnancy in the first 6 months after childbirth. In
the
new study, the findings held for women who had other children and had
successfully breastfed.
