Haven't looked at the full site yet, but found some interesting answers
to questions in the archives, focusing, of course, on breastfeeding with
a little family bed thrown in.

There's a particularly good response on breastfeeding from June 1996
where he 'vehemently' disagrees with top FDA scientists that
breastfeeding has only psychological advantages at http://www.drgreene.com/960621.html

On the other hand, there was a more 'typical' MD response (my bias is
showing) on "I am ready to give up on breastfeeding' from February 1996
at http://www.drgreene.com/960208.html and follow up at http://www.drgreene.com/960219.html

What I like is that the responses provide references to support them
more so than opinion as in a question by a mother re taking Zoloft while
breastfeeding (also pretty supportive of the mom) at http://www.drgreene.com/990612.html

The response to a question about a 24 hour break on breastfeeding
jaundice in a 6 week old was very tactful and also supportive,
emphasizing that "no damage or ill effect has ever been reported from
breast-feeding jaundice even though the bilirubin concentrations may
reach 30 mg/dL in this condition (Nelson Textbook of Pediatrics, WB
Saunders, 1996) see http://www.drgreene.com/981207.html

Greene acknowledges the family bed as a choice but doesn't seem to
support it, though those questioning don't seem to want it, either. In
one case he suggests putting a gate at the door of the toddler's room at
night so he can't get out. See http://www.drgreene.com/980210.html and http://www.drgreene.com/960103.htm

Joan
