Thanks so much for the wonderful responses re the 5 wk old breast refuser. I
am coming to believe more and more that this could be much improved by
having the mom clear her calendar x 1 wk and go to bed w/ the baby. I wonder
if the baby bonded to the nurse giving the bottles that first fateful night?
(I am not really saying this tongue in cheek, either).
But no one answered my query about what you should see when looking in
baby's mouth. When problems present and persist as in my 5 wk case, how far
do you go in examining the mouth, throat etc. looking for possible clefts,
bifid uvula etc. Obviously you would have looked at the tongue, chin, suck
etc.
Barbara Wilson-Clay if you are there I would love to hear from you and from
the docs and nurse practitioners too.
