Karen, I am very interested in this, too. I have had two mothers in the
last six months who had infertility and were in their mid 30's. Both of
them had problems with low production. The only way we could get their
babies to gain weight was using the SNS at the breast. Couldn't get enough
ebm, so had to use abm. On one, I did pre/post weights, and the baby rarely
got more than 15-30 cc per bf. Tried everything, pumping extra, fenugreek,
etc. Both had in vitro and were given hormones to maintain the pregnancy.
It seems there would be a correlation in the "hunching" side of my brain,
but would love to hear of anything documented and the experience of others.
THANKS!

Re: low production at 45 y.o. and hx. infertility: Having worked with
mothers
of multiples for so long and having had many of them nursing after
infertility, I'm trying to figure out the physiology re: infertility that
would also affect lactation. Can someone please explain how the two are
related? Any related reference citations also would be appreciated.
