Dear Susan,

It's funny that you mentioned that. Whenever my kids, ages 9, 6 and 2
see someone bottlefeeding (even if it's on tv!) they try to *reassure*
me by saying, "Mom, it's probably breastmilk in that bottle." LOL!!!

My cousin had a baby and left her with her grandma for about 3 hours.
As they prepared to leave, my son (9) persistently asked them when they
were coming back, if they were going to take the baby, if the baby would
have enough milk (she wasn't even nursing any more at that point :(

The parents were genuinely confused as to what the big deal was with
leaving a baby behind. After the parents left, my son stayed very close
to the baby and then questioned the grandma about when the parents were
returning, etc.

It would have been very amusing except for the fact that my son was very
concerned about the baby! He was pretty worried and knew that babies
should stay with their parents! He couldn't understand why they left
the baby behind!

My kids will also point out *every* breastfeeding baby they see, in
books, tv and in public. Their little antennae seems to be tuned in to
breastfeeding babies. I wonder where they got that from ;-)
