Since I try to learn as much as possible about breastfeeding, I've considered
becoming an IBCLC and have decided against it because as a mother I can
empower another mother with the concept that this is something mothers can
do. There are times when I've wished I had impressive credentials to back up
my knowledge but also times when they would just have gotten in the way. It
would be different if there weren't truly excellent IBCLCs and supportive MDs
in my neck o' the woods.
